Growing up, I was fascinated by computers. At age 8, I got a present from my father which was a Commodore computer. I learned BASIC programming and was able to make graphics, songs, and prompts. I dreamed of working in Silicon Valley and program applications for everyone especially children.
I hope to still do that as a sister. The experiences with technology got me here on Not the Sword But the Pen and other forms of social media.
Technology has changed since the 1980s and I owe it all to my father who introduce me to the digital world.
There will be a year in the novitiate when I will not have technological access. I would go back to using the pen and paper.
I will be flying out to Oregon for the weekend minus Wi-Fi on United but that’s okay since I will be writing letters. You do what you can while on a plane.
Wish me well on this weekend journey!
